Role: Sr. AD / Visual Designer, Japanese interpretation and transcription of stakeholder interviews
The project was for a renowned insurance company whose goal was to go 100% paperless operation by developing a responsive web app for desktop and mobile, by which customer information could be accessed securely and remotely by field agents on the road. The project kicked off with their Tokyo office and as the Visual Designer on the team for the discovery phase, I traveled to Japan with the team on a 2 week user interview research. We conducted stakeholder interviews with field agents and stake holders, showing concepts and identifying pain points, which were used to build a UX strategy for the product. I helped bridge the American and Japanese teams in understanding how culture played an integral role in insurance in Japan, as well as transcribe live interviews, simultaneously from Japanese to English.
